Release Notes – 8 January 2014

Release Date:  Wednesday 8 Jan 2014 10:00pm : downtime approx 30 minutes

New features in this release

Custom Email Templates

It is now possible to personalise the various emails sent to customers to suit your requirements.

Sales Order Discounts

It is now possible to add a discount amount to a sales order and a sales return.
This means that Shopify orders with discounts/coupons will now be correctly loaded into Tradevine.

Update Active Trade Me listings

An Update Active Listings button has been added to the Trade Me channel settings screen. Clicking this button will update all active listings with the current settings. Remember that Tradevine will attempt to update the listing, but in some circumstances the change is rejects (e.g. there are already bids or the listing is closing within the next few hours or it has already been edited 3 times).

Auto-printing Shipments

We have changed the way that we decide which shipments can be made when there is insufficient inventory to ship all orders. Orders with the oldest Requested Shipping Date now have the highest priority. Shipments will still be printed grouped by customer.

New Sort Order on Listings Screen

A new sort order called Closing soon, Recently closed has been added to the Listings screen. This will sort each of the tabs on the screen by a logical order (i.e. open listings which are closing soon now appear at the top as well as recently closed items appearing at the top) instead of all ascending or all descending as the other sort selections do.

Delete Sales Channels

It is now possible to delete a Trade Me or Shopify sales channel. Data linked to the deleted channel will no longer be visible on your product, sales orders, listings, feedback or questions screens.

Shopify Variant Information Added to Product Name

When importing variant products from Shopify into Tradevine the variant values are added to the Product Name. For example if a ‘Lovely Dress’ with size and colour variants of ’12’ and ‘Red’ will be created in Tradevine as ‘Lovely Dress – 12 – Red’.

Import Mappings

We will only save your import mappings (that get used as defaults on a subsequent import) once the import begins.  This means that if you go back from step 3 to step 2 we will use the latest settings.

Shipping Option – Freight

We have added ‘Freight’ as a shipping option.

Shipment filter panel

We have added the ability to filter by any inventory traffic light colour (not just green)

API Changes

There are 2 changes to our API

  • Confirm Shipment – It is now possible to trigger a customer tracking email when confirming shipments
  • Get Product – now returns image information

Importing Product Changes

There are no changes to importing for this release.

Importing Sales Order Changes

A column has been added to specify the total discount amount

Key Bug Fixes

  1. We have made more room for the legends on the sales order reporting graphs. Sometimes these were overlapping, eliminating readability
  2. We have fixed the sorting of order numbers on the sales order and shipments grids – these were sorting alphabetically instead of numerically

All of these improvements are based on customer feedback. We are planning to release further improvements on a regular basis. Your feedback is vital to ensuring that we’re working on the most important things first. If you have any suggestions, then check out our suggestions page where you can also vote. Otherwise, feel free to drop us a line at suggestions@tradevine.co.nz with your feedback.

Release Notes – 2 December 2013

Release Date:   Monday 2 Dec 2013 10:00pm : downtime approx 20 minutes

(On this day in history, in 1976 Fidel Castro became President of Cuba.)

Implemented in this release

Combined sales orders

It is now possible to combine sales orders. Trade Me sales orders can be combined automatically when a new sale matches an existing sales order and the following criteria are the same:

  • buyer
  • shipping method
  • shipping address
  • payment method
  • Trade Me account (if you have multiple accounts)

Sales orders can be combined manually when the following conditions have been met:

  • same sales channel
  • same customer
  • same payment method

If both orders have the same product then these will be combined on to one sales order line.

You will need to approve all sales orders that have been automatically combined to ensure that the results are as expected.

Trade Me shipping templates

It is now possible to define multiple shipping templates. When setting up a listing rule you now have the additional option of setting which template is to be used.

If you had set shipping costs on the global settings then we have converted this to a template.

Clearance tag for Trade Me Stores

If you have a premium Stores Extra Trade Me account then you can now mark products as ‘clearance items’ and take advantage of the clearance section of Trade Me.

Importing active listings

We have tweaked the way that we import active listings from Trade Me.  If the listing was created from My Products then we now retrieve the SKU and Inventory and set this in Tradevine. The SKU will be used as the product code.

90 day listing durations

We have added 90 day listing duration as an option for listings that allow this.

Trade Me attribute units

The attribute unit type is now available on the product’s listing rule to help provide more assistance with the values to be entered. So for example when selling a digital camera, the megapixels field is now appended with Mp.  This will make it easier for you to set the attribute values.

Shopify – addresses with Company names

The Company name field used in the address fields of a Shopify sale is now populated on the sales order and the customer’s record in Tradevine.

DHL Courier added

We have added DHL as a supported courier.  If selected then the customer will receive tracking details with a link directly to the DHL website.

Dashboard notes

We have added a text area to the Dashboard so you can write notes to yourself or other users of your organisation.

Inventory adjustments

We have made the Inventory Adjustments screen more user-friendly.

Stock levels on sales orders

When entering a new sales order line we displayed a traffic light icon to indicate the inventory status. We have replaced this icon to show the current available to sell quantity of the product instead, the number is coloured red/amber/green to indicate availability. Clicking on the ATS will continue to display a detailed breakdown of the product’s inventory allocations.

Pending sales orders

We have added a banner near the top of the sales order, that gives the reasons why the order has not progressed to awaiting shipment. This information is still available in the Shipments panel.

Export file optimisations

Sometimes when exporting huge numbers of product records it would fail due to a time out. We have made some tweaks to stop this happening.

Retail Feed – latest cost price

When uploading products via the Retail Feed we now value all of the inventory available at the current cost price.

API – Changes

  • We have added Product Code to the sales order and shipment line items on the Get Sales Order call
  • We have added a new API to create/update products
  • We have added a new API to create/update Trade Me listing rules associated with a particular product and channel.
  • We have added a new API to upload photos (as base64 encoded text)

See https://api.tradevine.com/Help/api-reference/index.html for more details

  • Clearance Item – (Trade Me).
  • Shipping Template – (Trade Me).
  • Exclude From Order Combining – (General).

Modified:

  • Shipping Options – (Trade Me). Now includes the Template Shipping Costs option.

Key Bug Fixes

  1. The inventory in Shopify was not always updated after encountering a 429 type error.
  2. The Dashboard link Trade Me listing failures was including archived products.

You can control the shipping and stock status of each warehouse, as well as transfer stock between warehouses. You can also amend the warehouse assigned to a shipment, after we have auto assigned the shipments to the warehouses that have stock. Tradevine users can also now email each 3PL warehouse with a pick-list of shipments ready to pack and 3PL warehouse staff also now have a dedicated cut down Fast Shipping screen for confirming the shipments (with their tracking details) directly on your behalf.

Direct delivery and auto restock are due in a future release.

Retiring Old Plans

Back in May we introduced a range of new pricing plans to offer our members more choice and flexibility.

At the same time we stopped offering the old plans to new members, however existing members could elect to switch to a new plan or remain on their current one.

From September 2 we will be retiring the old plans.

How does this affect you?

If you are currently subscribed to the Free or Standard plan you will need to select a new plan on, or before, September 2.

Choose a plan that works best for you.

Any questions or suggestions around the new pricing plans, please flick us an email at support@tradevine.co.nz.
