Release Notes – 7 September 2012

Changes to Tradevine

Release Date:   Fri 7 Sept 2012 5:00pm

New Product Views

We have given the Product List a big make over. There are now a few different views with an abundance of tabs to select under each of the following views:

  • Product Information
  • Suppliers
  • Trade Me Listing Rules
  • Shopify Products

The new views now include product thumbnails and inline labels.

You can also easily and quickly find the products, which do and don’t have rules or listings, as well as, which products have been configured for auto-listing etc.

Each view has its own set of search filters and quick action buttons. We will be adding more bulk actions to this in the future, e.g. bulk listing.

Trade Me Listing report

A new Trade Me Listing Detail report has been created, which provides a lot of information about all your listings.

The report can be configured to target specific date ranges, as well as individual products.

Saving your Shopify products

We have changed the way Shopify products are initially created, so they mimic the way Trade Me products are first created.

This is more apparent if you have multiple Shopify stores. When creating a new product the “other” stores will no longer be defaulted with the same product data, until you opt to add the Shopify settings to the product itself for that store.

Inventory Adjustment default

Now when you make an inventory adjustment to a product, which is not a stocktake or EOY reconciliation type adjustment, the quantity will default to 1, until you opt to change it.

Photos

In some circumstances, when uploading bulk photos we sometimes duplicated the image in error.  So we have changed the way that we handle bulk photo uploads.  The main effect is that if you want to replace previously uploaded photos then you must first re-import the Photo Identifier before triggering the bulk photo upload.  The procedure for importing of new photos is unchanged.

Blank line separation above the Listing Footer text

We now separate the global footer text on your listing from the listing description with a blank line.

Changes to Importing Products

The only change to this release affects exporting not importing. We no longer export the Photo Identifier on the product Core Details (now known as the Product Information export) export.

Key Bug Fixes

  1. When selecting all the products on the current view of the Product List, it wasn’t always possible to discern, which labels were or weren’t assigned.
  2. Previously when confirming a sales order or a shipment etc, the status would change, which meant it was not possible to get to the next document without exiting and opening the next document. We have fixed this now for most scenarios.
  3. We now retrieve our thumbnail images over https, so you should no longer encounter the mixed content warning on the Listings screen.

All of these improvements are based on customer feedback. We are planning to release further improvements on a regular basis. Your feedback is vital to ensuring that we’re working on the most important things first. If you have any suggestions, then check out our suggestions page where you can also vote. Otherwise, feel free to drop us a line at suggestions@tradevine.co.nz with your feedback.

Release Notes – 17 August 2012

Changes to Tradevine

Release Date:   Fri 17 Aug 2012 5:00pm

Free end time listings in Trade Me

We have revamped the automatic listing settings to improve the options available to achieve a variety of differing listing strategies.

Listing durations can now be either:

  • fixed length (e.g. 7 days)
  • fixed length with a specific end time (e.g. 7 days to finish at 8pm)
  • can finish on a specific day of the week and time (e.g. finish on Sundays at 8pm)

When your listing durations are configured to end at a specific time, we will attempt to create the new listing within a few minutes either side of the specified time. Be aware that if you specify a specific end time then there are some circumstances where will we be unable to achieve the exact time, such as if there is limited inventory and an existing listing auto-extends.  We will attempt to list for up to 20 mins past the target time before waiting for the next day.  In practice this will mean that the target time -2/+3 minutes would normally be achieved, however it could be up to -2/+20 minutes if inventory is limited.

The listing durations and times can be configured globally on your Trade Me Selling Channel or individually on each Trade Me listing rule.

As a result of the changes to the listing durations, some of the import and export fields have changed. The relevant fields are:

  • Listing Duration Type – (Trade Me) – new
  • Listing Duration Days – (Trade Me) – input values modified
  • Listing End Day – (Trade Me) – new
  • Listing End Time – (Trade Me) – name change only

For more detailed information refer to the Import Fields Help page.

Manually make Fixed Price Offers

It is now possible to manually make Fixed Price Offers if you have chosen not to activate the automatic FPO feature.

You will find the FPO button on the Sold, Unsold and All tabs of the Listings screen where you will able to specify a price and, if relevant, an offer quantity.

EFTPOS Payment Method added

EFTPOS has been added as a Payment Method option.

Delete User Logins

You can now delete users from your organisation. You just can’t delete yourself for obvious reasons.

Compare at Price added to Shopify

Alternate product Codes

An Alternate Code field has been added to your products, which allows you to optionally specify a secondary product code.

In Product Core export file, the field is called Alternate Code.

Import Replacement Product Codes

You can now replace existing product codes with new codes via an import. This is particularly useful if you have created products automatically from say Trade Me and now you wish to use your own SKU numbering.

Be aware that if you have imported new replacement codes, you must use these new codes on all subsequent imports, otherwise, you run the risk of creating duplicate products , one with the original code and one with the new code.

In your import file, the field is called Replacement Code.

Upload photos via FTP

It is now possible to upload photos with an external FTP URL.  We also support password protected FTP and HTTP servers.

Email content now persists for subsequent shipment emails

When confirming shipments and opting to email either the packing slip or the invoice, any text entered into the content panel will now persist for the next shipment confirmation.

NB: clearing your web browser cookies will remove the content.

Release Date: 6 July 2012 5:00pm

Listing Description footer

It is now possible to add a generic footer to some or all of your Trade Me listing descriptions.

Each product is configured to use the footer text by default.

Visit the Trade Me Organisation Settings screen to configure your footer text and to turn this feature on for all your Trade Me products. The footer text will only be used if both the product and the organisation setting are on.

If you are importing then you will need to add the Trade Me Is Listing Footer Enabled field to your import file and configure each product with a value of either Yes or No.

Specific Listing End Times

Previously you could only configure your listings to finish at a set 15 minute interval, now you can now specify the exact minute you want your product listings to end.

NB: there is a small bug on Trade Me’s side, where your end times may differ slightly, after updating a current listing. The older the listing, the more the updated time will vary.

Enhanced Fixed Price Offer Options

You can also configure your products for fixed priced offers by importing from file. The new fields in the Trade Me Settings file are:

Up-to-date Tab counts on your List screens

The counters displayed in the heading of your Status Tabs on your List type screens should now update when items are either added or removed from a status tab or a search filter is invoked.

Immediate auto feedback after shipping

Feedback can now be placed immediately and automatically after a shipment has been processed, instead of having to wait at least one day.

To configure this, set the days after shipment field to zero on your Trade Me Organisation Settings screen.

Delete Labels

It is now possible to delete labels. The system will also remove the label from any documents, products, customers or suppliers, which were tagged with the label.

Sales Orders from Shopify purchased with variants

Shopify sales, which were based on products configured with variants, now come through into Tradevine as a sales order based on the variant the buyer purchased. Provided each variant has been setup in Tradevine as a separate product linked to the correct variant. We are working on getting the importer to populate this automatically.

It is also now possible to configure your products in Tradevine to handle products set up in Shopify with variants. We are still working on putting a full on framework in place to handle Shopify variants, so in the interim, please contact our support staff for more insight into how to currently set up for this.
