Release Date: 17 February 2012

Super Fast Shipping

A new simplified Fast Shipping screen has been added to the Sales menu. This allows you to quickly process multiple shipments by scanning in your Pick Lists and tracking references. You can also manually type in the Pick List numbers.

Dymo Shipping Labels

You can now print Dymo shipping labels for your shipments directly to the label printer. We offer a default template, otherwise you are welcome to use your own customised template.

You will need a Dymo printer and to install the Dymo driver software on your machine.

Bulk Shipping

From the Shipments List, you can now select multiple shipments to print off any combination of your Pick Lists, Pack Lists, Invoices or Dymo shipping labels. This also allows you to do reprints based on your multiple selections.

Use the Grid Selector dropdown (the one with the down arrow) in the top left corner of the List to bulk select and print.

Improved Universal searching capability

The universal search at the top of every screen has been extended to include searching on customer/supplier email addresses and shipping tracking references.

Reporting Metrics Compatibility for devices without Flash

The reporting metrics graphs and charts are now compatible with devices, which do not have Flash installed like iPads etc. Some cosmetic changes have also been made for existing Flash users.

New Sales Order Reference Column

A new Reference column has been added to the Sales Order List and the Shipments Lists. This assists with tracking down sales order customer references like Trade Me listing IDs.

You can also search the lists using the new Reference field.

Customer/Supplier Quick Links

When viewing a Customer or Supplier, you can now select a couple of quick links, which allow you to either view all their orders or create a new sales/purchase order.

Billing

We have added the infrastructure to bill and receive payments. We have three plans:

1. A 1 month fully-featured Free Trial plan that you are first placed on when signing up. No credit card details are required at this stage.

At the end of the trial period, you can choose either the:

2. Standard Plan (unlimited listings and Xero integration) and if so enter your credit card details or

3. Free Plan (maximum of 50 concurrent listings and no Xero integration).

The free trial will run until the end of February for anyone who signed up before 1 Feb 2012. If you signed up in February, then your trial will end one month after your signup date.

See the pricing page on the Tradevine website for more details.

Key Bug Fixes

You can now also withdraw a Trade Me listing using the Internet Explorer or Opera web browsers.

The Dashboard count links now exclude cancelled or completed sales orders.

All of these improvements are based on customer feedback. We still have lots of work to do and are planning to release further improvements on a regular basis. Your feedback is vital to ensuring that we’re working on the most important things first. If you have any suggestions or feedback, feel free to drop us a line at suggestions@tradevine.co.nz.

Tradevine announces the Xerocon prize winner.

We held a prize draw from attendees of the conference, who threw their business cards into a bowl. Congratulations to Michael McCook, who won a Cruz Tablet – we hope you enjoy this fabulous prize. A special thanks to Charlotte Hinton from Xero, who drew the lucky business card.

Charlotte draws the prize winner

Tradevine, add-on partner to Xero, was an exhibiting sponsor at the Xerocon 2012, hosted at the beautiful Auckland Viaduct Events Centre.  Tradevine has integrated with Xero, beautiful accounting software, to handle all the financial transactions for a complete back office solution. With 400 accountants from around New Zealand attending, Peter, Phil and Sandy were on hand to promote Tradevine.

We enjoyed listening to the speakers during the conference. There was a great keynote speech by Rod Drury where he announced WorkflowMax had been acquired, followed by some updates from the Xero Product Managers.  I am sure there was not a dry eye in the audience when Dave Jessop (DJCA) , gave his talk around midday, which included a personal account of the earthquake, and the effect it had on his business. Key from the discussion is how the cloud enables business continuity.  Well done to DJCA, who won Xero’s Partner of the Year award later on that evening.

All of us attended the Gala Dinner in the evening. With some drinking, a fine dinner and dancing into the night, a fun time was had by all. Well done to all the nominated practises and add-on partners, and winners on the night.   We look forward to Xerocon 2013.

Recent Changes to Tradevine

Release Date: 1 February 2012

Fixed Price Offers(FPO’s)

Much awaited feature, Tradevine now handles FPO’s as part of the re-listing process. IMPORTANT NOTE: You will need to update your settings in Settings -> Selling Channels -> Listing and Re-listing options.

Manual Product Approval

If you have manual approval on at an organisation level for sales orders, you can now switch on certain products to trigger this approval too. This is really useful if you are waiting on verification on a size or colour option on a particular item before shipping it. Once manually approving the sales order, the shipment is created and you can carry on with the sales process.

Show Pay Now balance on dashboard

New dashboard field to display your Pay Now Balance, this means you can monitor this from Tradevine.

Character Counter

The Product Description text field which displays in the Products -> Selling Channel -> Category area, has a a new widget which displays how many characters you have remaining to use, as Trade Me only allows 2000 chars.

Non-functional technical enhancements

Some of the changes we make are invisible to the users of the app, but are technical enhancements that make the application run better or faster.

All of these improvements are based on customer feedback. We still have lots of work to do and are planning to release further improvements every fortnight or so. Your feedback is vital to ensuring that we’re working on the most important things first. If you have any suggestions or feedback, feel free to drop us a line at suggestions@tradevine.co.nz.

$1 million of sales processed by Tradevine!

Today we achieved a significant milestone of over $1 million in sales passing through Tradevine’s back office solution that connects to Trade Me and Xero.

The transactions involved the processing of 3700 sales orders and over 33,700 item listings on Trade Me. We are really pleased with this continuing validation of our service and it’s great progress considering we only released the Tradevine beta software a few weeks ago.

We’d like to really thank our Users for their valuable contributions and feedback to date. It’s great working with you all and we’ll continue to roll out new features and enhancements based on your requirements.

Getting Started – Are you a big seller?

Do you have more than 1500 active listings and want to start listing with Tradevine?

We are really keen for all of our users to get up and running in Tradevine as quickly and simply as possible.  We think we have made a pretty good wizard to take you through the minimum steps.

However there is limit on the number of calls we can make with the Trade Me API (the way we ‘talk’ to Trade Me).  This means that if you have more than 1500 active listings you could run into problems. We have a number of options to work around this restriction, choosing the right one depends on your situation.  So drop us an email service@tradevine.com and we’ll work with you to set-up Tradevine.

Getting Started – Outstanding Fixed Price Offers

When you first start using Tradevine it is important to keep in mind that it does not recognise listings that it has not created.

There is a function called Import Active Listings which will import all active Trade Me listings. However outstanding Fixed Price Offers will not be imported as these listings are considered closed by Trade Me.

It is important to be aware that in the first few days these Fixed Price Offers cannot be registered in Tradevine.  At the most it will be 7 days depending on if you chose the 1, 3 or 7 days offer period.

When an outstanding Fixed Price Offer is accepted by your customer, the sales orders will not be created automatically in Tradevine. You will need to create these orders manually for up to 7 days i.e. until the last outstanding Fixed Price Offer expires. Any Fixed Price Offer made after you start using Tradevine will be handled automatically and sales orders will be created as normal.

Our techies are working on how to handle these outstanding Fixed Priced Offers and we hope to have this little hole plugged within a week or two.

Additional tip: read How do I start using Tradevine? for more information about the steps that need to be completed before you start using Tradevine. Most of these you have completed during the Setup Wizard, but if you haven’t it’s important to make sure you’ve covered these points.

If you have any questions please email us at suggestions@tradevine.co.nz.
